Amazing Glass Artist & all around awesome human, Andrew Pollack is having a workshop at Jelveh Designs.
I am so excited that Andrew Pollack is coming for a workshop at the studio in September. I met him a few years back @ the Gathering in NOlA, then at the first Gathering in Las Vegas I took his bird class, just too much fun. He has a unique relationship with glass.
“Through both teaching and creating art full time he has devoted himself to the exploration of glass for the past ten years. Andrew’s style & technique are very much his own, allowing him to create unique sculptural & functional works of art.” Andrew & his family own & operate Pollack Glass Studio & Gallery in NOLA. I can not wait to visit next time I am in New Orleans.
In this two day Boro workshop:
Day 1 we will cover sculpting with a aquatic theme. Probably warm up with some sea grass and then some fish in the am. Octopus in the afternoon. Possibly other creatures depending on time.
Day 2 will be intro to hollow work. We will attempt to work from small vases, jars, shot glass shape in the am to bottles in the afternoon. I will demo and discuss creating a stopper & attaching some of the solid critters from the first day to our hollow bottles which students will then try their hand at with my guidance. I expect everyone will get a number of things finished in this workshop.
